Maxis: The Story

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

Wow..i am totally inundate with work..NOT! Thank God i am left only with a couple of days before all of this ends.

Eventhough i am REALLY looking forward to leave Maxis..but there is a small part of me that wishes to stay on. I guess i am so used to the environment  and deep within me, i know, that eventually i’ll miss it once i start my new sem.  And to boot, my final sem. Guess you can expect a horrendously grotesque time for me in the near future.

It’s like June all over again, when i was in SHT. It is the same feeling. I will miss all of my colleagues over here, since we had a lot of interactions with each other.  All the time that we spent, shall forever be cherished in my heart. ( a Brokeback Mountain moment… :p )

Goals..huh?

Wednesday, January 4th, 2006

Goals. Dreams. Having it is essential to life itself. After a couple of years of soul searching, i finally found mine. It’s kind of hard to make decisions, if you don’t have a goal in mind. It’s like you’re driving around in circles without knowing where is your destination. At the end of the day, what have you achieved? Waste of energy, money and the most important of all, time.

Figuring out your goals, that’s the hard part, espescially for me that is. Somehow, our personality is intertwined with our goals. The way we act is in accordance to our goals. If a guy acts like a total ass, imagine what his goals are. Does he even have one? Not having one is pattern of self-destruction. The way you act, your entire personality, is a reflection of your goals, what do you want to achieve in life. Therefore, personality is not really who you are. We can take on any personality that we want. Imagine this, you are like a hardware, and your personality is like a software. The software can be changed any way you want it to be, you can reprogram it anytime. By having an optimal software, then will you use all your hardware resources. Therefore, having the right software is a crucial step to live your life to the maximum.People see things as they want to see it, an Internal Represantation of the world.

Then, who we are, really? If we are not our personality, then what are we? In a molecular level, we are all the same, protein chains and DNA represents us all. What makes a difference is our soul. Don’t judge a person based on his personality, judge him based on his soul. But does, his soul is tied up directly to his personality? For example , if he his soul is pure, definitely, he will act like a saint, right? This is not necessarily true, espescially in the world that we are living in today. Moreover if there are social pressure presence. A guy whose soul is good but acted like a total ass is just confused. But how do we manage to look at somebody’s soul? How do we know if this guy has a good soul?

In order to judge, or what i might say categorizing a person’s soul, is to look beyond his personality. Personality is inconsistent, while a soul is more consistent. Somebody’s soul can change if there are an extreme source of stimuli given to it, but it rarely happens. An example extreme source of stimuli is an event of significance value that has occured in his life. A death of loved ones maybe, a tragic accident. Personality on the other hand, is sporadic, changes along with the environment that he is in.

Sorry if the article is confusing guys, i am just completely unoccupied and the feeling of boredom is seeking in even deeper. Just a random article, written completely random, sort of like a random process with a random variable in a completely random environment. :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!
