Deliberately Nonsensical Article(DNA)

Saturday, August 27th, 2005

This is it guys, the pinnacle state of busy-ness that my fragile mind can endure. After this, i will start seeing everyone as mathemathical equations aka John F. Nash.  My FYP is not even close to the vicinity of completion, and it is imperative that i complete it(well, at least get the results for FWM BER) by this Tuesday or else i am screwed. Not only that, Electromagnetic Interference assignment is giving me some headache. PCB design, urggh.."speechless".
Despite the intentional whinning, i am going to discuss about love.
Love? Yuck, really hate that word , but i’ve been hearing it very often, espescially from a close friend of mine. So, how do you really know that you’re in love? Some people would say that the signs are a)"Mandi tak basah, makan tak kenyang..", and some would say b)" You get a tingling feeling everytime you see her, kind of like an electric shock", and some would even beyond any explanation would sayc)" You know it when you’re experiencing it.". I don’t believe in any of those. If love is like an electric shock, then i guess i would love to be executed on an electric chair now, would i? :)
For me, love is when everything around you starts to become beautiful. You had never realized how beautiful the sky is, that is until you fell in love. Even an incident of a van overturned and flipped a full 180 degree vertically and then started to slide across the road, right in front of you, is a beautiful sight to behold , if you are in love or if you are really really high on drug medication. Correlating the act of falling in love with the effects of medication is a very direct , straight and relevant comparison. Both of them gave you the same desired effect . The only difference is that you are on medication when you’re sick, you fall in love when…well, when your heart tells you so.(hehe..right…).
Anyway, it feels so much better after writing a nonsensical article based on a nonsensical feeling such as love. Thank you for reading and have a LOVEly day.

Incoherent Rambling

Sunday, August 21st, 2005

Finally, managed to go out with my friend, Fidz aka Rock aka Nick Carter…:). Anyway, had a great time pal, and hope we can do it again before you leave for German. Had a nice "nostalgic" talk together. Don’t forget to introduce me to your girlfriend eh, Rock? :)
Wow, workload is getting heavy nowdays, sometimes you don’t even know where to start actually. However, despite all the extremely nerve breaking and brain wrecking work that i have to settle, i still managed to take a time off  to enjoy a few good movies or two. Here are my reviews of the recent 3 that i have watched:

Gol & Gincu

It’s about a girl whose boyfriend dumps her, and now, she is getting back at him by playing futsal, basically, that’s the main plot of the movie. The whole plotline was predictable from the start and the acting was only average at it’s best. However, i do enjoy the movie(guilty pleasure) due to some of the gorgeous actresses, espescially Mia. Man, Melissa Maurice is extremely gorgeous!!:)
Anyway, back to the movie. The movie, according to the Malaysian standards of movie making, it actually ranks above average, but in "my " standards, it is below average, because everybody knows that my standards are even  higher standards  compared to the international standard..hahahha…in other words, it is tough to please me.:p..
Verdict:1.5/5

The Maid
This film is a Singapore film(i think…) that is about the 7th Month of the Chinese Year. In this month, it is said that , the hell gate is open and spirits shall fly around freely. And of course, there is an unlucky girl( a hot Fillipino maid) which is always "kena kacau" by the spirits.
This film is scary man, kind of like "in-your-face" kind of scary, you know. Something like Shutter you might say. The film looks kinda of low budget and the acting was only sub-par, but the movie did give me a good scare. To all you Shutter fans, i recommend you guys to go and check this movie out.
Verdict:3.5/5

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
I was skeptical to watch this film at first. Why you ask? Well:
1)it is a kid’s film
2)i hate chocolates
But nevertheless,i am glad that i have watched it because this film…is excellent! I enjoyed the film the whole time. The special effects were gorgeous, the jokes were funny and Johnny Depp’s potrayal of Willy Wonka is sure to be remembered. I like the part where they showed the flashback of Willy Wonka. Quite suprisingly, the movie itself carries quite a bit of philosphical values behind it if you look closely. Such as "it’s ok being ordinary", and of course, a lot of family values.
Verdict:5/5

Back to reality now, my FYP is really in a bad shape. I am currently stuck doing the BER for FWM, and it sucks. Four Wave Mixing formula is so hard to grasp and understand, espescially the part with the summation of power when only i channels are on, and the summation of frequency must equals to fm and also assuming that random i channels which are on, and of course not forgetting that you must maintain the case for only a single frequency of the outerloop while changing the frequencies in the 2 inner loops. Confused yet? So am i..Anyway, by hook or by crook, i need to get it done by this Wednesday…or at least have some progress to show to my supervisor. It sucks, but in a way to me, it is kind of enjoyable. This is definetly a platform for me to prove myself…and i won’t waste it. Like they say," People see problems, i see opportunities" :)

Finally, it’s done

There are some announcements that i would like to make:
1) The birthday photos are uploaded at my Friendster’s photo album. Sorry i didn’t ask for everyone’s consent on that matter. It’s just so hard to send the files through e-mail because of the huge file size. Hope you guys enjoy it.
2) I have shift all my games rambling and review to my 1UP blog. Over there, i will write about gaming. FYI, 1UP was my first blogging attempt, it failed miserably, so right now i am trying to revive it. If you are a 1UP member, my handle is Corey Yagami.  http://www.1up.com
3) The smoke is getting worse. Hope you guys do take care of your health.
All right guys, thank you for reading. Have a nice day.

EMI EMI EMI EMI EMI

Monday, August 8th, 2005

Since there is no decent entertainment at my Cyberia condo. I guess i better be blogging then. :)
The EMI test this morning was reasonably tough. It seems that my preparation weren’t enough. Tu laa..main Psychonauts lagi during the holiday. Well, i don’t believe in  regrets because by regretting, you will only waste your energy and you won’t change a thing. Therefore the only thing that i can do is to make sure that the same mistake won’t happen again. I have to make sure that i will ace my Law test, insyallah. If i can’t achieve that, then , i won’t be able to realize my dreams..:). Realizing my dreams is the most important thing to me right now…
During the holidays, i have managed to beat 3 games(PS2), here are the mini review for each of them:
King Of Figther Neowave

Basically, it is no different than the gazillion other King Of Figthers that you have played. The only thing different is the graphics, which is better than the previous games. This is because this KOF is running on Atomiswave(Guilty Gear anyone?). There are no new characters . Same system. Basically, nothing new here. There are a few hidden characters such as Kim, Angel, Rugal, Vanessa Ramon  and also the Orochi version of the New Face Team.
My dream team for this game is: Robert, Terry and Kim. Robert is unstoppable in this game. His HDSM is unblockable, easy to execute, pretty fast, and almost travels the whole screen.
Rating:6.5/10

Garou: Mark Of The Wolves

I’ve been dying to play this game since 2001, when it first came out for the Dreamcast. Unfortunately, i can only get my hands on it 4 years later.
4 years ago, this game was awesome, but comparing the game with today’s standard, the game fell a bit short. The graphics was just average and the character selection roster was just too small.  There are no extras to unlock except for the gallery, which is dissapointing. SNK should have ported this to PS2 A LOT earlier.
Being a huge Fatal Fury fan, my favourite character in this game is Terry Bogard. His Burning Knuckle is fast compared to Rock’s. And his Power Geyser just look plain awesome to me. This is the first time also that SNK unveil Terry’s new look.
Rating:6/10

Psychonauts

This game didn’t impress me at first. The Nickelodeon look, the funny looking character design…but after playing it for a while, i was totally hook. The graphics aren’t that superior. This game truely shines in the level design. The levels are totally unique and also varies. You won’t be doing the same stuff over and over again. Plus, the jokes are really funny. Where else can you become Godzilla and terrorize the whole city and then fights a sort of wacky Ultraman character and also fight with Napoleon Bonaparte in the battle of Waterloo ? This is the only game that lets you do both of them and many more…
My favourite level is the "Milkman Conspiracy". The gameplay in this stage is very unique. You must disguise yourself to enter a certain area. Sounds dull, right? But it really is interesting..the stage design is..undescribeable. And the dialogues are totally hilarious.
Rating:8.5/10

Finally,i would like to wish a very happy 22nd birthday to Weizhi…

Apology

Saturday, August 6th, 2005

Sorry for the breach of agreement guys, but sending a 13 MB(after Zip-ing of course) attachment using a dial-up(28.8kbps) is a real pain.  Therefore, i will send to you guys once i get back to Cyberia(there’s broadband there) and once i am free of my hectic schedule, maybe sometime around next week. Latest by the end of August, aight? Sorry for the inconveniences.
To my MMU friends…HAPPY GRADUATION. Hope you guys enjoy the ceremony. Too bad i can’t be there..:(
